How do I add additional items to a room when they don't exist in the room type I used?
Solution

Interspect Voice report templates define the items that need to be inspected based on the room type (Kitchen, Bedroom, Attic, etc.).  Some items are not mapped to specific room types because they could exist in any room depending on the house.  For instance,  a water heater could exist in the Attic, Garage or Utility room.  These items are available for adding to rooms you create.

Through the user interface, select your room and click the Additional Room Item button on the upper right corner of the Inspection Items page.   A popup dialog will appear showing the available items on the left and selected items that already exist in the room on the right.  You can select additional items and move them to the right by clicking on the Add button.  Likewise, you can remove items from the room by selecting the item in the Selected Items list and clicking on the Remove button.

With voice, there are several commands that work with additional items.  To get a list of additional items say "List Additional Items".  To add an item from the list to the room say "Add Additional Item 'item name'".  To delete an item previously added say "Delete Additional Item 'item name'".

Once additional items have been added to a room using the user interface or voice, you can set the status, add issues or comments, and add images just like other items.
