The ability to use voice to indicate when you take a picture and the auto insertion of the photos into the report is a huge time savings for inspectors. Since digital cameras usually don't display the seconds when setting the clock, it can be difficult to get the camera clock and the PC clock synchronized. Although Interspect Voice allows you to set a variance to the clocks, the long this variance time, the longer you have to wait between successive pictures.
An easy way to get the clocks synchronized is to first start by setting the clocks as closely as possible by adjusting the camera hour and minutes to match what is shown on your PC clock. To fine tune this synchronization, follow these steps:
- Start a new inspection
- Navigate to the Inspection Detail page
- Start a voice inspection
- Navigate to an inspection item
- Double-click on the Clock located in the icon tray at the bottom-right corner of Windows
- With the PC clock displayed on top of Interspect Voice, take a picture of the clock on computer screen
- Immediately say "Add Comment Photo" or "Add Issue Photo"
- End your voice inspection
- Plug your camera into your computer
- Open the photo tab, select Inspection Photos and click the Add button
- Browse to your camera and select the photo of the PC clock you just took
- After the photo loads into the library, double click on the photo to open it up in the image editor
- The digital data and time from the camera will be displayed at the bottom of the image editor on the status bar

- Compare the camera time shown on the status bar with the PC time shown in the image
- Adjust the Camera or PC clock as necessary to sychronize the two. If the hours and minutes are matching, it is easier to adjust the seconds on the PC clock to match the camera time. Just calculate the difference between the two and adjust either one as necessary.
- Next, adjust the Camera Variance Time on the Settings/Preference page. This should be set to the amount of time it takes for you to say "Add Issue/Comment Photo" after taking the picture. The smaller this number, the less time you have to wait between pictures but, the faster you need to issue the voice command after snapping a picture with the camera.

Following these steps should increase the accuracy of matching the photos to the associated inspection items. Enjoy!
